The new St. Mary of the Angels' school building opened in October 2007. Before that, there was an old school on the site, which was of course the original Pope Pius XII R.C. Primary School. We changed our name to St. Mary of the Angels in 2003, to become more closely aligned with our local parish and church.
The school has had just three headteachers in its 45 year history; Mr. O'Connell; Mr. Gajewski; and Mr. Hughes, the current headteacher.
We will be showing very old photos of the school, over the coming months, including newspaper clippings of the original opening in 1971. For now, here are some old school scenes....are you on them!? And do you recognise any of the children, parents and staff??
