Spring Term Learning:

Our class topic this half term will be 'Traditional Tales'.

In English, our text this half term is 'Goldilocks and Just The One Bear'.  We will be learning to:

  • Be consistent when we punctuate sentences with full stops, question marks and exclamation marks
  • Use a capital letter at the start of sentences, for names and place names
  • Use ‘and’ between words and some clauses
  • Use the prefix un- and the suffixes (where no change is needed to the root of the word) e.g. ed, -ing, -er, -est
  • Describe the different characters in the story
  • Predict what we think will happen next
  • Write letters with the correct formation and the appropriate size

In Maths, we will be introducing children to early multiplication and division.  We will be using language such as:

  • groups of
  • shared equally
  • shared between
  • equal
  • array

In Religious Education, our topic is 'Resurrection'.  We will be learning about Easter Sunday, the Ascension and Pentecost.  We will be exploring how the Disciples felt at different stages of these important events.

In Science, our topic is 'Plants'  . We will be looking at different plants, flowers and trees.  We will learn the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees.

We also have lots more exciting learning planned in PE, Forest School, Music, Art and Computing.
