Year 1 2025 - 2026
Miss Hart
YEAR 1 - Miss Hart and Mrs Robinson
Miss Hart will work with the children on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs Robinson will be in class Thursday and Friday. Mrs Williamson is with us every day to help too.
We are really excited about this year's curriculum and have lots of engaging and interesting units of work throughout the year.
During Autumn term we will be exploring hot and cold places, asking and answering lots of questions about the weather and getting to grips with the beginning stages of the National Curriculum. We will also go on a local walk to learn more about where will live and different types of building in our local area. In Spring we take a step back in time and learn all about The Great Fire of London. We look closely at our capital city, its history and why it is built the way it is now. Finally, in the Summer term, we widen our geographic lense to look at the United Kingdom and its countries. We also delve into a different period of History known as The Victorian Era.
You can find out more about our Year 1 curriculum this year on our Curriculum Map which is attached below.
During Autumn term, PE will be taught on a Tuesday and Friday. Please make sure that your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days. Please ensure earrings are taken out as we are unable to support with removing and replacing earrings.
Our Forest School dates for this year will be:

Thursday 8th January 2026
Thursday 19th March 2026

It’s important to ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately on these dates. For more information about Forest school, click here.
Please bring reading diaries in every day. We love learning about what you have been reading at home and love having book talk in class to discuss different authors and genres. Other homework such and spellings and maths will be posted on Google Classroom weekly.
We are really looking forward to working with your children this year and we thank you in advance for your support!
