WELCOME TO YEAR 2
A Message From Mrs Postlethwaite and Mrs Kane .
Summer 2025
Welcome back to school we have so much to look forward to in the Summer term.
RE : We will be learning about the life of Jesus. We will be looking at the stories of the Pentecost and the birth of the church .
English : We will be writing our own letters and stories about keeping our world safe and healthy. We will be using lots of descriptive language and different sentence structures to engage the reader.
Maths : We will be focusing on using fractions and learning about how to measure length, capacity and mass. We will be looking at how we use these strategies to help us solve everyday problems,
Science: We will be observing the life cycles of a number of different plants by growing potatoes, onions and a number of summer flowering bedding plants. We will be looking at how different habitats support different animals and food chains and comparing what lives in them. We will be exporing a forest habitat when we go on our fun packed residential visit to Delamere Forest.
Topic: In topic work we will be learning about our local history and in particular the development of Port Sunlight Village and the fact that Lord Leverhulme was responsible for giving people a better standard of living. We will be going on a field study visit to the village to look at the different features. We will be looking at how we need to look after our world by reducing pollution and the destruction of natural habitats .
We will be learning to play a range of percussion instruments and will enjoy a visit to the Liverpool Philarmonic for a concert as well as performing at our Coffee Morning and Music Festival.
We hope you are excited as we are for the amazing learning journey we are going on together this term we are going to have lots of fun!
Kind Regards
Mrs Postlethwaite and Mrs Kane
