Prayer and Liturgy
At St Mary's, we believe that Prayer and Liturgy in a Catholic school names and celebrates God's presence in our lives. It is concerned with giving glory, honour, praise and thanks to God. It is our loving response, in word and action, to God's invitation to enter into relationship, made possible through the work of Jesus Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer and Liturgy is celebrated every day, either as a Class, Key Stage or Whole School.
Times of prayer and liturgy happen in many different forms at St Mary's, some of these ways include:
Celebration of Mass
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Whole school assemblies linked to the Sunday Gospel
Key Stage Assemblies
Daily Class prayer
Celebration Assembly
Stay & Pray sessions during Lent and Advent
Liturgical Year focus, e.g. Advent Service, Remembrance Service,
Staff Prayer times
Spontaneous prayer and reflections
Rosary during lunchtimes in May and October
