Mission and Values

Our children, staff, governors and parents all helped to create our succinct, all encompassing mission statement. We love its simplicity.

We can all remember it and use it daily to guide us in our shared vision.

Our fantastic sign language club have helped us all to express our Mission Statement using Makaton.

As a Catholic school, our values are Gospel values, these are the values revealed to us through Christ’s proclamation. We find them in the Gospels, in the teaching of Jesus:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”

Honesty, Integrity and Self-Awareness

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

Dignity, Compassion and Hope

“Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.”

Humility, Gentleness and Friendship

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for what is right, for they shall be satisfied.

Truth, Justice + Excellence

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.”

Forgiveness, Mercy and Love

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for doing right, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they insult you because of me, your reward is great I heaven.”

Service, Sacrifice and Faithfulness

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” Tolerance, Peace and Respect

We keep our focus on our vision and values, guiding us in all we do.

  • When we talk about ‘developing our curriculum’, it’s in the context of “God given potential”

  • When we talk about building the capacity of the school, it’s in the context of “our distinctive characteristics”

  • When we talk about our ethos and our school approach, it’s in the context of our “Gospel values”

Because we value…we try to...

Our Creation by God - Be everything that God creates us to be

Learning  - Create nurturing, challenging and empowering learning opportunities for children, staff and parents

Inclusion  - Offer a broad, balanced curriculum that is relevant and accessible for all children

Achievement - Celebrate the achievements and successes of each individual

Communication - Ensure everyone has a voice and their contribution is valued

Responsibility - Secure the accountability of all through distributive leadership, rigorous monitoring and evaluation

Reflection - Improve future performance through the continuous evaluation of our practice

Creativity  - Think outside the box and try new ideas to continuously raise standards

Community  - Nurture positive working relationships with parents, multi-agency professionals and the local community

Diversity  - Promote tolerance and respect for individual differences, abilities, needs and beliefs

Well-being  - Create a safe, caring environment in which everyone is healthy, happy and ready to learn

Transition - Equip children and families with the knowledge, skills, independence and resilience to face future challenges
